Patti Smith – Horses

2832 kbps flac, vinyl origin.

I don’t know if I’ve had a real thought today.  There’s an apocalyptic blizzard in NY right now, I’m kind of sad that I’m missing it.  It’s so rare to see the streets of NYC dark and quiet, and I’d like to be there to look at it.

I have to get to the gym one of these days, to get back in the habit of going. During the three or four weeks I wasn’t working I maybe went 5 or 6 times; but it was just enough to get over the muscle soreness. Now it’s been 3 weeks since I’ve gone, and if I don’t go back soon I’ll have to deal with the soreness again; which means shitty workouts for at least a week.

I’d like to smoke some weed and workout. Those were always the best workouts, and I haven’t smoked in a long time.  I also need to get back into the habit of listening to music rather than podcasts; when I listen to music I power through the workout, when I listen to podcasts I tend to lounge, getting distracted by whatever I’m listening to.

Is this really what I’m writing about? God this is so dull.    I don’t know if I can really relate to this album. I do like the couch time though. I should be handwriting these things so I don’t have to stare into a screen while I’m listening. I don’t actually know how long I could go without staring a glowing rectangle. Even in my escape fantasies of a wilderness life, I have a laptop and my camera in a backpack, a solar battery that gives me an hour or so of juice every couple of days; that I use to tap into the human world.

In my wilderness fantasy, I have a small shelter far enough away from other humans that I can’t know if I’m not the last person on earth; but not so far that if I decide to enter civilization, it wouldnt’ take me more than a day or two to get there.  I’d have projects to do every day, and write.  It’s a lot like my life now, except instead of being an introvert in los angeles, I’d be a hermit in the woods.
